Mission
East Allen Family Resource Centers mission is to be a quality
resource for children, families and the community promoting personal, social and
educational development for a lifetime.
Values
Education, respect and stewardship are the values that guide all we
do.
A Unique Community Asset
The East Allen Family Resource Center is an
innovative nonprofit agency creating long-term collaborative partnerships with
existing human service agencies in order to bring to the area a wider range, and
more easily accessible, complementary family services.
Education for youth is a high priority for East Allen FRC. Among its
services for youth, the Center offers pre-school, after-school and summer
programs that meet long-term needs through education and development of life
skills. Its high standards of excellence marks it as one of the best pre-school
and after-school programs in Allen County.
Meeting immediate needs, East Allen FRC offers programs such as emergency
food assistance through the Food Bank.

History
The East Allen Family Resource Center was founded in 1966 to serve
children and families. Its Blaising Center site opened as the first rural Head
Start in Allen County. Then operated by Neighbors, Inc. and the Allen County
Economic Opportunity Council, the organization was then known as the Eastside
Neighborhood Center.
