East Allen Family Resource Center is committed to improving the lives of
children and families. Here are some of the services the Center offers.
Lighthouse Learning Academy (Pre-School Program)
A certified teacher utilizes the High/Scope curriculum to educate children ages
3-4 with skills needed to prepare for kindergarten.
To qualify for program: child must be potty-trained and be age 3 by June 1 to
participate in fall program year and be age 3 by April 1 to participate in

Learn for Life (After-School Program)
The After-School Program is a daily after-school program for youth in K-8th
grades. The program consists of homework and educational assistance, activities
that promote healthy living such as nutritional snacks and physical fitness, and
teaching life skills such as babysitting and cooking. East Allen FRC also offers
youth opportunities to learn about careers and participate in career planning
activities.

Adventure Program (Summer Program)
The daily summer program is for kids pre-school through eighth grade. Youth are
offered a wide variety of learning opportunities from swimming lessons to arts
and crafts programs. They can also enjoy outdoor activities and educational
field trips.

Kids Café
This program provides free snacks and meals year-round for children and youth
who participate in Center programs. It is made possible by a collaboration
between Community Harvest Food Bank (CHFB) and East Allen FRC. The CHFB provides

Adult Continuing Education
This program offers adults a variety of learning opportunities such as computer
classes, GED prep, budgeting and personal finance classes, parenting education,
and health and wellness programs. For more information, call 260-749-9516.
Food Bank
East Allen FRC offers emergency food assistance to residents of East Allen
County through an in-house Food Bank supplied by the Associated Churches, local
churches and organizations.
To qualify for assistance: One must live in agency’s designated service area,
be age 18 or older, provide proof of residency and have photo ID. For more

Holiday Assistance
During Thanksgiving, the East Allen FRC partners together with local
organizations and churches to provide families with baskets of the necessary
ingredients and food items to cook a homemade dinner for the holidays.
The Center’s Adopt-A-Family program, a collaboration between East Allen FRC,
Allen County Christmas Bureau and many local churches, organizations, and
individuals, provides Christmas gifts for families in need.
To qualify for assistance: One must meet income guidelines, live in east
Allen County area, be age 18 or older, and have children living in household.
